Part-Time Silversmith: (10-15 Hours / Week) 6 Month - 1 Year Commitment Minimum

Our Silversmiths are the key to our business and what makes our workshops so memorable and fun.

You will work with Sterling silver in all sorts of different forms along with copper and other metals. Silversmithing uses soldering to join pieces together with the use of torches and heat. Various chemicals and equipment will be used in the process and doing so in a safe way is a high priority.

 

As a silversmith you will be the one in charge of your workshop group and coach them through the entire silversmith process. All while being fun and friendly and solving any issues that arise. Teamwork is a crucial part of the workshop experience, at workshops with more than one instructor you will be expected to help all members of the group. 

 

When not coaching a workshop you will design and create various silver pieces for retail. You will also learn about the different gemstones available and be able to identify them for customers. 

 

Primary Duties:

  • Review daily schedule and prepare shop, ensuring all set up arrangements are completed 30 minutes prior to workshop start time

  • Instruct and entertain customers during their workshop

  • Help build a culture of fun that customers will want to return to

  • Ensure all facility security and closing procedures are completed at the end of shift

  • Clearly identify gems and silver for proper manufacturing

  • Maintain safety procedures

  • Clean and maintain the workshop space and equipment

  • Alert management of any inventory constraints
